Drive in Milker
PLEASE NOTE - any milking experience is fine, cow, goat or sheep.
We are looking for an experienced and reliable drive-in milker to join our close-knit team on our family owned sheep milking farm, located just 5 minutes from Te Awamutu, in the Waikato.
You will be helping us milk around 720 ewes, through a 30 aside herringbone shed. We milk the herd twice a day and we are looking for someone to assist with our milking during the season.
The milking season runs from now until April.
Requirements for this role:
• Strong knowledge and experience of dairy milking and methods
• Knowledge and ability with milking systems
• Demonstrated high standards of milk quality and shed hygiene
• High standard of personal and operational hygiene
• Maintain a tidy & presentable dairy shed
• Good animal husbandry skills
• Empathy for livestock
• Able to drive a manual vehicle and farm motorbikes
• Follow health and safety and wellbeing procedures
• Good work ethic
• Patient
• Reliable and punctual

The farm is 95 hectares and is well established with good infrastructure and good facilities. We are currently grazing 45- 50 hectares for the sheep. The farm is also carrying Chicory and other crops. We have a newly converted herringbone shed which milks 30 aside and includes automatic cup removers.
