Position: Farm Assistant

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Farm Assistant to join our team able to start as soon as possible, This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a positive attitude, and is passionate about agriculture and animal care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily care and feeding of livestock.
  • Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery.
  • Perform general farm maintenance, including fencing, cleaning, and repairs.
  • Assist with planting, harvesting, and crop management.
  • Monitor animal health and report any concerns.
  • Keep farm buildings and work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow health, safety, and biosecurity procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous farm experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks in all weather conditions.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • A valid driver's licence is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends during busy periods.

A Farm Assistant helps with the day-to-day running of a dairy farm. Duties include: Milking cows. Feeding and caring for livestock. Moving and checking animals. Cleaning the dairy shed and farm equipment. Assisting with calf rearing during calving. Maintaining fences, races, and farm facilities. Operating basic farm machinery (if trained). Following animal welfare, health and safety, and biosecurity procedures. Working as part of a team and carrying out other general farm duties as required. Requirements: Minimum 1 year of dairy farming experience . Physically fit and able to work flexible hours. Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
