Alsmere farm is located 12 minutes west of Te Kuiti on Oparure Road. the farm is owned by Kotare Pastoral Ltd. the dairy platform is 183ha effective with 550 cows peak milk through a 36-aside herringbone. the farm operates with 3 full time staff plus relief under a system 2 framework with strategic use of supplements. The company owns a 600ha support block which is independently managed providing grazing for farm heifer replacements and wintering requirements. a hybrid system of twice-a-day and once-a-day milking is used throughout the season.
