We are Ruapuna Farms a family owned business located directly in front of the beautiful Mount Peel on the North side of the Rangitata river. The village of Mayfield is only a 5 minute drive away with a local primary school, service station, pub, dairy, tennis courts, rugby grounds, squash and swimming facility's.

We are currently milk 1,400 cows through a modern 80 bale rotary shed with all the modern technology. The property is fully self contained with a 250ha runoff block supporting the dairy platform. This allows us to winter all of our cows and young stock next door to the dairy unit as well as supply us with all of our grain and straw needs for the season

About Ruapuna Farms

  • 1,400 crossbred herd on 375ha effective, 80 bail rotary shed with ACR’s and excellent farm infrastructure. Protrak, auto drafting and teat spray.
  • Dairy Team: farm owner, 2IC, 2x herd managers plus 3x farm assistants. We also employ 3x calf rearers over the calving months.
  • Roster: 5 days on 2 days off.
  • Accommodation: On farm accommodation available. Modern housing.
  • We offer on-farm training and encourage PrimaryITO training    
  • We love to see our staff members progress through the industry and we endeavor to retain our staff as long as possible within the business.

Applicants MUST: 

  • Be living in NZ and have a drivers’ license
  • Have a current Work Visa (minimum of 2 years before expiry) and a high level of spoken English.
  • MUST be drug free and able to pass pre-employment drug test (random drug testing may occur during employment).
