We are a progressive 350-cow operation milking 110 effective hectares in Kapuni, South Taranaki. The farm is a System 3, focussing on consistently achieving approximately 1,450 kgMS/ha and 450 kgMS/cow.
Cows are milked through a 44-bail rotary cowshed with automatic cup removers. We aim to have a one person in the shed for the majority of the season with milkings shared with the sharemilker. The farm has a flat contour, productive soils and is simply laid out. This enables a flexible work day with variety of day to day jobs. On farm accommodation is tidy and comfortable.
The farm has 2 FTE throughout the season (sharemilker and employee) with additional family support over spring time. 11 and 3 roster.
