Contract terms are negotiable, either as a contract milking position or a contract manager.
Thunderbird Farm is located in the Reporoa district, just a few kilometers from Mihi school. The farm consists of 160 ha effective area, milking 400 cows through a 40 aside herring bone cowshed, with in-shed feeding. There are two good houses and supporting infrastructure.
The Contract Milker or Contract Manager carries overall responsibility for how the farm performs across the season. The position is responsible for the employment and renumeration of all farm staff.
The position also holds primary accountability for herd health, welfare while leading a small on-farm team to deliver consistently high standards. This includes maintaining strong reproduction and animal health outcomes, protecting milk quality, and ensuring young stock are well grown, and meeting all compliance requirements.
