We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working senior farm assistant to join our team for the 2026/2027 season. We are located just 10 minutes north of Oamaru on Cameron road. The farm is a 163ha flat farm, which is fully irrigated with pivots and fixed grid. We milk 620-670 crossbred cows through a 2019 built 54 bail rotary shed that is equipped with automatic cup removers, Protract, automatic drafting and cell sense. This season has been our first season integrating Halter collar’s into our farming system which has provided us with the ability to spend more time on others areas of day to day operations. The ideal candidate for this position will have 1-2 year’s experience in the dairy industry with a strong desire to progress in the industry. We are after a hard working, reliable, honest person who is experienced in most areas of the day to day runnings of a dairy farm. You should be able to work alone, but also work well in a team. You should have a willingness to learn in areas you are not experienced in. Tractor experience is preferred but not essential. We have a big emphasis on clean and hygienic practices while milking in order to produce high quality milk. Our roster through calving (late July- early October) is 6 on 1 off. After calving we go to a much more relaxed roster, where we are open to options on what works best for you.
