Sole charge Farm Manager position available in a great location.

The farm is located 4 km from Matata, 10km from Edgecumbe and 20 minutes from Whakatane. The farm is 80 ha of flat to easy contour, milking 250 crossbred cows through a 2017 built 24 aside herringbone dairy shed (part ACR). System 2 to 3 feeding grass silage and PKE when required. Target production is 85,000 kgMS.

We are looking for someone to manage the day-to day running of the farm. Support will be available all year round with extra help over calving.

  • Feeding supplement
  • Animal health
  • Rearing calves
  • Setting up the farm for relief cover
  • Effluent management
  • General farm maintenance

The successful person needs to have the following:

  • Good recording skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience managing pasture and feeding supplement
  • A high standard of animal husbandry – Including: heat detection, health issues, body condition.
  • Independent, reliable, trustworthy

5:2  6:1 Roster

The house is 3 bedrooms with a good kitchen, living area and heat pump.
