Ruaworth Farming Ltd is a family farming business in West Otago.
We run a mostly Friesian 700 cow spring calving herd, aiming to achieve over 500kgms a cow running system 3-4. Utilising grass first and fully feeding cows while maximising feed efficiency is a big focus.
The farm is well set up with the use of a freestall barn, cow manager, 50 bail rotary shed with autoteat spray and drafting making daily tasks efficient.
Being a self contained unit, all silage and winter feed is made on farm with support from 2 other blocks of land as well as grazing young stock.
Our goal for the business is to create a system where cows, people, environment and community can thrive. Always looking to learn and adjust things to maximise our impact on these core areas!
