We are looking for a Senior Herd Manager to join our team. We milk 1150 cows, very close 5-7 minutes from Culverden Township.

We are looking for someone with experience in the following skills:

• Milk alone and identify and treat common animal health conditions
• Can calve a cow and treat the milk fever cow by bagging her in vain
• Identify Mastitis
• Ride 2 wheel and 4-wheel bikes safely
• Capable in riding a tractor, feeding out with wagon
• Picking up calves and Feeding calves 
• Fencing (both temporary and permanent)
• Treating lame cows
• Follow health and safety of Farm
• Respect other team fellows and work along with them happily 

The ideal candidate will possess:

• minimum 3-4years experience dairy farming experience preferred in New Zealand
• The ability to work as part of a team and also pass on clear instructions to Farm Assistants/Contractors when required
• Quiet around animals (we run a very quiet shed with no yelling or sticks allowed in shed)
• Clean and tidy on farm and in the home
• We like to grow our team by providing training

Average hours per week 49-53 hours.

You will be working in a positive team environment alongside the Contract Milker and 3 other full time experienced farm staff (one in a hands-on management role). The farm has a 60-bail rotary shed with cup removers. We have good 3-bedroom accommodation available on farm.
