This system 3 farm targets a peak of 300 cows, through a 36 bale rotary cowshed. This farm is on track to produce 140,000kgMS using inshed feed, summer crops, and home grown maize silage. The farm philosophy is that it is profitable for all parties, but once you know the farm there is some license to run it as you see fit. There is a farm advisor employed for 6-8 visits a year to help with the analysis/farm direction through-out the season. With smaller cows the farm could go up to 330 cows.
The ideal applicant will:
• Have a minimum of 3 years farm business experience
• Have excellent pasture management and feed planning knowledge
• Excel in animal health and husbandry
• Competent with record keeping and using farm application software
• Have a proven track record for tidiness and attention to detail
• Be self-motivated and have good communication skills
• Ensure all aspects of health and safety are managed
