Farm Details: - The 175.5-hectare farm runs 340 to 360 cows Friesian cross cows. - Prior year milk solids average 139,000 kg - The farm has a flat contour - 36 ASHB Dairy Shed - Tractor - Modern 3 bay implement shed as well as a half round barn equivalent to 2 Bays - Lined Effluent storage with a travelling irrigator. Farm system/inputs include: - Up to 270 ton of palm kernel (PK) (Fed out in PKE trailers) - Young stock are grazed off-farm - Silage is made on-farm - 15 hectares of summer crop, which is then put into oats for winter and re-grassed in spring. - Fertiliser is applied annually as per Balance recommendations. - Calves reared average around 90 head per season. This includes 10 beef calves per season for the resident owner. The calves are sent off farm for grazing from December returning as in calf heifers in May each year. - The farm engages support from a Farm Advisor who will make quarterly visits.
