The farm is 250 Ha of mostly flat consolidated peat land with good stock races and drainage located in Roto-O-Rangi 10 minutes out of Cambridge and 15 minutes from Te Awamutu. The Cowshed is a 40 aside haring bone with a modern plant and automatic cup removers. We milk 540 Friesain / Fresian x Jersey cows. Mating is 4 weeks of AI and followed up with Hereford bulls. We operate a system 2.5, feeding Grass silage, Maize silage and PKE as required. Calf rearing is supplied. Cows are milked twice daily up until January where we then make decisions based on feed, cow condition and also humans as to whether we go to once / day milking for the remainder of the season.
