We have implemented milking cows once a day on both farms to help improve our reproduction results, better cow condition and health and also benefits staff work/life balance. Both platforms are flat farms, with a centre pivot and bosh system for irrigation. We have good infrustrucutre including good milking sheds with protrac, feed pads and new effluent systems. Our machinary is kept in good condition with frequent services, we have alot of gear on farm which means we can do alot of our work in house without contractors coming onsite.
Calving starts 15th July, and we have good systems and processes in place during this busy time.
We have a wearable technology called cow manager we use on all cows which helps us identify cow health, nutrition and fertility.
