The shed is a 60 bale rotary that is fully automated which allows for one person milking and no fights over the speakers! There is also a bathroom, break room, office, and storage room. Very Spacious shed but is still quite easy to clean. The shed is located in the center farm so the majority of the walks for the cows are less than 800m. The 5 pivots and newly put in fixed grid are supplied via a water race on farm.
We are based in the Hurunui Area, North Canterbury and nestled between mountains. We also have access to the Waiau river on the farm. The houses and majority of the farm is about the fog in the mornings which allows us to enjoy the beautiful pink sunrises and sunny skies. While the paddocks are mostly flat, in the nearby distance are beautiful mountains.
The farm is 15 km to Culverden which is home to the Hurunui rugby team, squash courts, netball teams, and a hockey team. Culverden also has local tea rooms, Red Post Café, a bakery, a pub, and a Four Square.
Only 20 minutes North of us is the wonderful alpine resort town, Hanmer Springs. Hanmer Springs offers endless entertainment via the hot pools, 15+ restaurants of many different cuisines, live music on weekends, mountain bike and walking forest, Music and Arts group, and a health center.
15 minutes South is Rotherham town which has a wonderful little pub with tasty food and good service and has our nearest health center. 50 minutes South is Amberly which has many restaurants, local shops, and a Countdown. We are also just 1.5 hours north of the outskirts of Christchurch.
