The farm operates a 500 cow, medium input system, with in-shed feeding and maize and grass silage fed out in the paddock, when necessary. Calving is split, with approximately 100 cows calving in autumn and the remainder commencing in mid-June. The run-off is just down the road (where accommodation is), where dry cows are wintered and young stock is grazed. Therefore, you will be involved in all aspects of the farm operation, which is an ideal learning opportunity.
