Seeking motivated and enthusiastic person to join existing Team, milking 500 cows in Waitaki Valley. The farm runs 750x cows set up as 2x Herds, 2x separate rotations. Farm is 320Ha rolling hill country, k-line irrigation. The team consists of 4-Full-time staff, plus an additional relief milker as the season demands and an dedicated Calf Rearer. The Dairy Assistant role will include: Assisting in the dairy shed milking 500x cows in a 40x aside Herringbone dairy shed Assist with all dairy shed hygiene duties and requirements Getting cows in/shut away according to the farm roster Assist with moving and handling animals safely in the dairy sheds, yards, in paddock and at run-off facilities Assist with animal health and welfare, including identification of animal health issues and reporting to management Set break fences and feed out as directed Assist with weed control Assist with effluent and irrigation related tasks and duties, Assist with all other...
