Farm is located in the rolling hills of Pongakawa. Our herd of 550 Friesian cows are fully fed using a feedpad system all year round, feeding a mix of supplements grown on farm and bought in. The farm is diverse as we also run young stock and beef stock on the property and grow crops such as maize, lucerne and chicory.

Assistant Dairy Farm Manager

We are seeking an Assistant Dairy Farm Manager to join our team milking 570 cows in a split calving system in the Bay of Plenty. Currently have one third of the herd calving in Autumn (March-April) and two thirds calving in spring (July-August). Cows are fed supplements everyday using a mixer wagon/feedpad system.  Expected duties include the following: -Milk harvesting and ensuring milk quality -Monitoring animal health including administering and recording health treatments - Staff management -Shed maintenance and preparation -Tractor work including loading mixer wagon and feeding out on feedpad - Machine Maintenance -Weed control -General farm maintenance and duties  We are looking for someone with at least one year of relevant experience across dairy farming and machine operation. Guaranteed minimum work hours of 40/week
