Our farm is 28 km south of Featherston in Western Lake. We have launched HALTER on farm this season. Our milking platform is 150ha with 60ha under centre pivot with variable rate application (new in 21/22). There is support land within the farm boundary and a 38ha wintering block across the road. We run a pasture based system with maize for transition in spring and extending lactation in the autumn. The farm is under development with further projects planned providing further learning opportunities for team members.
2/3's of our young stock are grazed off Dec to May.
We have a quiet herd of cross bred cows. wintering numbers 370, spring calving, TAD, no winter milking.
