The dairy platform is 150 ha with a 28 ASHB Shed. The total farm area is 298 ha. We are looking to peak milk 300 cows, Spring Calving (late July) on TAD until late Dec/early Jan then OAD until the end of the season. The farm will be self contained for replacements ( 75 calves and 75 R2 heifers) additionally 75-100 beef cattle will be share farmed. The farm is self contained for feed except for an allowance of 300kg per cow of PKE or equivalent to be fed in early lactation. The main supplement will be grass silage Summer crops of turnips and or chicory will be grown, harvested on farm. Up to 120kg N will be used on the dairy platform each year.
