Milking 920 cows through a 70 bale rotary dairy shed in Culverden, North Canterbury. Dairy has PROTRACK and Cup removers as well as inshed feeding. A variety of tasks are in this role: learning pasture\feed management, setting up breaks, milking cows to a hygienic and healthy level, including somatic cell count, identifying calving cows, calf rearing, working on animal health issues, washing the plant, feeding out, shifting irrigation, ensuring health records are kept up to date, plus other farm tasks that arise from time to time. We aim to work as a team and everyone getting to know all aspects of the farm. While there are a variety of tasks in the role, the primary role of this position is to milk cows. We are looking for  a skilled and motivated individual or couple that is ready to take the next step in their dairy career. We are an 900 cow dairy farm, milking through a 70 bale rotary with ACR's, protrack, auto drafting and in shed feeding. We are looking for an Assistant Manager (2IC) with plenty of dairy operating experience. Someone who is self motivated and efficient. This role suits someone who is wanting to progress and be hands on, taking some of the pressure off the manager when need be. This season we are wanting to take the farm to the next level! Candidates will have previous dairy farming experience and are required to provide current references.  There is also a position available for an experienced calf rearer and possible relief milker which may suit a partner.
