I think I've already done so...
We are implementing the old saying, "Work smarter, not harder," as much as we possibly can on this place, hence the decision to milk once a day.
Our other 2 staff members work on an 11/3 roster and they find it suits them well (47 hr/wk on average). We are currently training 2 junior farm assistants and a tractor driver/machinery person, as we transition away from the farm. Sadly, one of our staff will be leaving NZ at the end of the season, hence why we are training some junior FA and also hoping a management couple will come to us.
We've got several reliable relief milkers on hand, just a phone call and 2 minute drive away.
We also have a few trained calf rearing assistants that know their jobs well!
Now we just need the new us! Hah!
