Dairy Farm Assistant and Herd manager required. The position involves supporting the Farm Managers in achieving the farm’s production and profit goals through assisting with the day-to-day operation of the farm, and to follow good animal health and welfare, and environmental practices We are located in Milford milking 750 cows on an 50 bail rotary shed.We utilize a system 3 farming setup with 750 spring calving cows. The farm is fully irrigated with 5 pivots, 4 guns, and a number of k-line sprinklers. What is expected of you, Jobs may include but not limited to: Milking cows Proper milking shed maintenance Proper Identification and treatment of sick, lame and mastitic cows Setting up break fences General farm maintenance Feeding out Weed spraying Tractor driving experience is an advantage Shifting irrigators and effluent spreaders has a can do attitude
