We are seeking a contract milker for a 1 June 2024 start date who has a real passion for farming.you must be financially secure and have good support helping you manage this business in all aspects.
The 138 ha farm, peak milking 450cows, is well set up with excellent facilities and fully compliant. The farm has been maintained to a high standard,which makes for an easy transition for a new person. Production has averaged 175,000kgMS for the last three years on a pasture/pasture silage-based system with an in shed feeding system to balance any feed deficits.
We are seeking a person with a great attitude, high standards and a proven ability in pasture and stock management to continue to run our farm well. You'll be the type of person who is easy communicate with, handle issues and problems in a positive way and be willing to do more the bare minimum.
Accomodation on the property is of a high standard, with two houses provided. With this in mind the role lends itself well to an experienced couple, plus one full time staff member (with the partner assisting with calf rearing through the peak of the season). While this is the preferred staffing structure, but we are open minded to alternatives for top people.
