Here is a great opportunity for two progressive people wanting to take that next step to their first contract milking job, milking 300 cows. I am looking for people who have had at least two or three successful years as either a farm manager or contract milker. Experience in pasture management, animal health and record keeping is essential. Start date 1st June 2019.
This farm is 110ha of good quality land in Reporoa. The owners provide a three-bedroom home which has log fire and HVS; there is also a self-contained cabin across the carport. The cowshed is a modern 30 AHB shed with automatic cup removers. Two people are required to work full time in this cowshed. The farm consistently runs a low cell count and the cows are always fed well. Projected production for this season is 110 kg MS.
We have been on once a day for the last two years but will be back on to twice a day this coming season.
This is a biological farm; we don’t use urea because we don’t have too. Our average production is 110,000 KG, we hope to lift that to 120,000 MS or better.
