The dairy platform is 315ha of mostly flat, coastal land with some lahars. The property is on Eltham Road 5 minutes’ drive from Opunake. Our highly productive, kiwi-cross herd is in the top 10% of national BW and PW. The cows calve from 1st of August and are milked through a 60 bale rotary cow shed with automatic cup removers, auto teat spray and pro-track. The farm is a system 2/3 farm with PKE purchases to fill feed deficits. The dairy support block is 224ha in size and is operated by the team also. Calves and heifers are grazed on the support block after weaning, as well as some bulls and carry-over cows. Grass silage, hay and winter crops are also grown on the support block.
