Our gently rolling dairy farm near Okoroire, autumn calves and works in conjunction with our calf rearing unit (Top Notch Calves). So for half of the year the cows graze all the farm, but when calves are outside this area reduces. We have a covered feed pad (maize) and an in-shed meal feeding system. We have a very capable Dairy Farm Manager (Lisa) who has been with us for 4 years. Our farm dairy is a 24 aside herringbone. We use Hereford Bulls for mating in the winter, and purchase in-calf carryover cows as replacements. Farm production averages over 500kgMS/cow/year.
