Situated 4km from Kaikoura, we milk 800 cows on 200 ha. The farm is highly stocked and last year produced close to 1600kgMS/ha. We milk the cows through a 60 bail rotary with ACR's. In shed feeding is used with medium levels of Grain and PKE . Since the earthquake we have used a 3 milking every 2 day regime in the summer. The 2 day milkings start at normal times 5am and 2.15pm, and the single milking is at 9am the next day. This has worked particularly well and I would invisage going onto this regime from Christmas time onwards in the future. We have a runoff 25km from the farm, which as well as being a nice place to work , has some good hunting opportunities. Salary is negotiable and would depend on experience and ability. Salary could range from 42500 - 50000 depending on experience and ability.
