Duties will include; 1. Support in staff management and daily planning of tasks 2. Dairy hygiene, Best on Farm Practice and shed checks, 3. Effluent management, 4. Animal health practices and treatments (lameness, mastitis, metabolic, metritis), 5. Drafting and management of AI cows, 6. Management of Springer cows, 7. Cow drafting and fetching, 8. Milk harvesting, 9. Weed spraying, 10. Repairs and maintenance 11. Development Projects 12. General Duties 13. All associated tractor work
We run as a tight 7 person farm with a Farm Manager, 2IC, Dairy Herd Manager, Farm Assistant, Youngstock Manager/ Calf Rearer, Farm General and 1 General. The farm is flexible with time off requirements and aware of people's personal lives. We run the farm with a team of 3-4 on most days with some casual staff but 2 people will be required to run it and do the basics to allow others to take annual leave as required. We have a 10 year old 54 bale rotary with cup removers (Milfos shed), great calf sheds and other facilities. We take pride in our tracks, fencing and water system and we are striving to make this top notch. Weed control is also high on the list. We have a solid R&M program like to be aggressive in our progress on development projects such as tracking, drainage and infrastructure. Come and see our progress.
