We Sharemilk a 1050 cow farm in Mayfield, Ashburton. My wife and I are very hands on, and really enjoy working alongside our 4 other staff.

We have a 60 bale rotary shed, with Allflex Collars, ACR's, Max-T and in-shed feeding. We have a feed pad, modern calf rearing facilities and vehicles.  

The farm is irrigated by four pivots, with effluent in one of them.

We have modern houses, which we take pride in up keeping. There are two local primary schools within 10 minutes of the farm, and the main town of Ashburton is 25 minutes away.

We have been dairy farming for 20 years, and still love doing so. We have three children who attend a local primary school, and enjoy being on the farm with us.

Farm Assistant - 1050 Cows in Mayfield

We have a Farm Assistant position available for this coming season to due staff progression. We milk 1050 cows through a 54 bale rotary shed. We are based 5 minutes from Mayfield, Ashburton. We sharemilk this farm, and are excited to have a new team member join us. We have long standing New Zealand and Nepalese staff, but welcome all to apply. We are an Accredited Workplace holder, however you must have had 6 months experience working on a dairy farm in New Zealand.  Your main tasks on our dairy farm would be milking, setting up fences and general farm jobs. You must be able to follow instructions, ask when you are unsure and be able to manage your time while at work. Full on farm training will be given in areas that you are unsure of. We follow a 6 and 2 roster all year around. You would be working along side the Sharemilker's, Manager and three other staff. We are flexible with our holidays, enjoy social farm outings and like having a laugh while getting our work done.
