Based 30 minutes east of Ashburton, this dairy operation runs 1400 cows on 375ha and is supported by outstanding facilities. The property is 90% pivot irrigated and 10% k-Line / long line laterals, with an 80-bail rotary with the latest in shed technology, such as heat detection camera, body condition score camera, Pro Track and cup removers.
The property is well suited to three, 460 cow herds. We operate a flat structure with 3 herd managers each owning a herd (pasture walks, fencing, thistles, water etc.). Weekly pasture meetings discuss seasonal grazing strategy and implementation decisions.
