FARM ASSISTANT WANTED
Location: Waikato; 10 min from Morrinsville
Our farm: We currently milk 710 cows TAD through a well-appointed 50-bail rotary with ACRs. We are a System 5 farm utilising supplements all year round on a feed pad. We have 8&2 and 8&3 rosters all season with daily 3 h breaks achieved most days, as well as a newly renovated 3-bedroom house available. Remuneration package is circa $65,000 which includes housing, PPE and phone allowance, as well as Kiwisaver. Bonuses are negotiable.
Who we are looking for: Experience with higher input systems, including handling of mixer wagons and telehandlers is preferred.
Experience with animal health, and milking cows is essential. A positive attitude and enthusiasm for working in the dairy industry will make you a good fit for our team. This position may suit a career-changing person if you have skills related and transferable to this industry (e.g. exceptional machinery operation and maintenance skills and/or animal husbandry skills/experience). A couple’s position could also be accommodated with milking and calf rearing available at times. Start date is negotiable and could be as far out as June 1st 2021 as we are currently fully staffed.
Must haves for the position (please do not apply if you do not meet the criteria below):
• NZ resident/citizen.
• Current restricted or full NZ drivers license.
• Be able to drive a 2-wheeler motorbike
• Be able to drive tractors
• Savvy with technology/smart phone.
• Experience with heavy machinery.
• Pass a drug test
• 2 references.
