A new effluent system was put in 2013 consisting of a stone trap feeding into holding tank which is pumped to a seperator and gravity feed into a 1.5 million litre lined pond. At the pond a pump is controlled by a smart computer which feeds 3 lines- 1 to green wash at cowshed and lines 2/3 around the farm via underground lines to hydrants. Currently 65% of farm reached. Application is via 6 movable pods. A calving pad is utilized in the spring and can hold up to 70 cows at one time with its own effluent storage . The property is split into two sections with an underpass connecting it together.The farm is surrounded by gravel roads which offers great access. 1 large 7 bay shed with lockable storage is located next to cowshed and is used for calf rearing and machinery storage. Also two implement sheds for equipment and 1 implement shed with concrete floor utilized for fertilizer storage and workshop facilities. The farm consistently grows grass all year round with annual rainfall about 1200mls.
