The family owned property (400ha dairy platform) converted in 2008 is currently milking 1410 cows through an 80 bale Rotary.
IRRIGATION – 4 main pivots plus corners watered with 2 small pivots and some k-line and long-line. Reliable water from MHV.
SHED – fully automated 80 bale Rotary with Protrack, cup removers, in-shed feeding (grain and PK), Ezi-Heat camera and Body Condition Score camera.
EFFLUENT – gravity fed two stage pond system with effluent pumped and spread via either a separate under-slung line on pivot or in line pivot. Back-up Briggs 15 series travelling irrigator.
CALVING DATE – 1st calvers 28th July, Mixed aged cows 8th August
SUPPLEMENTS – System 4 – feeding grain & some PK throughout the milking season to support grass platform
PRODUCTION – 2014/15 - 660,000 MS, 2015-16 - 662,000MS, 2016/17 - 632,000MS, 2017/18 Budget 650,000 (currently 5% up on budget)
SUPPORT AREA – currently fully supported by neighbouring 252ha fully irrigated support block growing and supplying – grain, winter grazing, young stock grazing, grass silage, calf rearing area. Support land managed by owners and 1 permanent staff member
