We are looking for two experienced farm workers (2+ years) to work as Herd Manager on a 500 cow farm in the Reporoa area, milking through a 50 Bail Rotary shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking and monitoring milk quality, - training junior staff, - stock handling and feeding (feed mgt), - fencing, weed control, - calving, calf rearing, - shed maintenance & preparation, - tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage - monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health - and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 46. We require x 2 Farm Assistants in Reporoa for this 750-cow farm on 250 hectares. We run two sheds a 44-bale rotary and 20 aside herringbone to manage this farm. You must have 2 years’ dairy farm, experience or a Bachelors Degree. Your Duties include but not limited to milking cows, animal health, cleaning shed and plant, setting up fence breaks, tractor driving, farm maintenance and general day to day duties. You must also be able to operate tractors and farm machinery.  You must be responsible for your actions on this farm and working as a team is important, you need to think for yourself.
