We are on the lookout for a Farm Assistant to join our small team in Northern Southland.
Start date: Start of February 2025 (please note this is not a short term position, ideal candidate will be keen to stick around for following seasons)
Location: 5min to Five Rivers cafe turn off, and 12min to both Lumsden and Mossburn.
Currently milking 520 cows (growing to 650 next season) through a 54 bale rotary with ACRs, auto teat spray, Protrack and inshed feeding.
The farm is a flat 200ha property that is irrigated mainly by pivots with small sections of K-line in the corners.
Majority of cows wintered off farm with approximately 150 staying on farm wintered on grass and silage.
Existing farm staff is the Contract Milker (+wife occasionally helping out), our 2IC, this farm assistant role and a calf rearer for calving.
The successful applicant must have a minimum of 2 seasons experience on a New Zealand based dairy farm.
