We are looking for a Farm Assistant We are based on the Kaikoura Flat, a short 5 minute drive from Kaikoura township. We milk 700 cows through a 60 bail rotary, with twice a day milking for most of the year. The milking shed has recent technology including, Protrack, ACR’s, automatic teat spray, SCC and milk monitoring capabilities. We are targeting a driven individual that wants to develop themselves, with support of our experienced farm management team. Key aspects- ·        All aspects of milk harvesting and cleaning in the shed ·        Able to use technology such as halter ·        Identifying sick or lame cows ·        Safe use of equipment such as tractor feed out wagons ·        Control of weeds and farm maintenance The role comes with a 5 and 2 roster, and a competitive salary. Experienced person required to help run 880 cow family owned Dairyfarm at Kaikoura. This could suit someone who has been out of the industry for a while and would like to get back in with help from an experienced and active farm owner. The cows are milked through a 60 bail rotary with ACR's and Protrack. The farm is irrigated with Ocmis Irrigators and K line. The cows are wintered on the farms own run-off where R 2yr olds are run for most of the year. This is a management role, the extent of which will depend on the employees experience and skills/ ability. There is room for career advancement on this farm .  We have just paid the deposit for Halter and are expecting Collars to turn up on the 13 July which is very exciting.
