Herd Manager required, with at least 2-3 years "Dairy Farming experience in New Zealand". Herd Manager would ideally be capable of day to day running of Dairy Farm when other staff are off. So a good understanding of running Dairy shed, Animal health & Pasture management would be necessary. The Dairy farm has very good infrastructure to assist staff & make day to day jobs a little easier with 54 bale Rotary with cups off, Protrack & In-shed feeding. It also has user friendly Irrigation & Effluent application with effluent applied through the 2 Pivots. The position would ideally suit a single person. We are looking for a Herd manager to join our team milking 630 cows through a 54-bail rotary shed with all the bells and whistles - Protrak, in-shed feeding, cup removers etc.  The farm is fully irrigated with 2 pivots and fixed grid, effluent goes out via the pivot. We are looking for someone who will work closely the contract milker to help this farm achieve its goals - and who enjoys being part of a team. We offer a great team environment - a good life/work balance. You will need to be able to milk by yourself, drive a tractor to feed out, have good common sense and be a team player. Ideally you will be able to do lame cows if possible. The package will reflect your experience - in return you will be drug free, honest and respectful. Must have at least 3 years Dairy farming Experience

The ideal applicant will have minimum 6 months NZ dairy farm experience.
