We require a farm assistant to assist in all farm duties around the farm. The farm is currently running 650-750 cows through a 70 bale rotary with drafting ACR and halter. The main rolls will be milking and shed hygiene, animal health and husbandry, weed management, feeding out, young stock care and general farm duties and maintenace

We are looking for a reliable Farm Assistant to join our spring‑calving dairy operation milking 650–750 cows, with all young stock raised on farm. About the Farm • 650–750 cows, spring calving • 70‑bale rotary with ACRs, drafting and halter • Most contracting work completed in‑house • Strong focus on pasture quality, animal health, and developing people’s skills Role Responsibilities • Milking and shed duties • Feeding out • Young stock care and rearing • Animal health and husbandry • Weed management • Assisting with on‑farm contracting work What We’re Looking For • Good attitude and willingness to learn and “get shit done” • Reliability and attention to detail • Genuine interest in caring for animals, people and equipment • Ability to work well within a small team (2 full‑time staff + employer) Start Date Flexible, depending on the right applicant.

Carries   out   milk   harvesting   tasks   safely, efficiently, and correctly, and assists in training new employees on correct   techniques. Assists   with   solving   milk   quality   problems,   as per instructions in farm policy manual. Helps farm assistants to understand factors that   affect   milk   quality,   hygienic   milking   and mastitis control procedures. Cleans and maintains the milking plant and farm   dairy   equipment,   and   carries   out   hygiene inspections as per instructed in on farm policy   manual. Moves and handles animals safely, identifies and diagnoses animal health issues, and assists   with   treatments   and   prevention   in   line with farm policy. Records and maintains all herd health treatments and events according to on-farm policy   or   dairy   company   policy,   as   per   advised by manager.
