Due to medical issues with one of our staff we are requiring, with immediate start, a dairy assistant for our dairy farm operation. PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST ALREADY BE IN NEW ZEALAND AND BE A RESIDENT OR ALREADY HAVE A RELEVANT WORK VISA TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION. WE WILL NOT RESPOND TO APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT MEET THIS CRITERIA. Our farm is located in Kumara, right next to the racecourse, only 20 minutes from both Greymouth and Hokitika. Kumara has a local pub and cafe. The position has a brand new 3 bedroom accommodation on farm.  We run 530 cows on a 207ha farm which was converted in 2014.  50 bail rotary shed with Protrack and ACR.  Good pasture and farm infrastructure. We are looking for a Dairy Assistant to join our great team.  The duties required are milking, maintaining a clean shed and records as required, feeding out, assisting with animal health treatments & drafting, assisting with night checks and other day to day farm duties.  A full job description is...

We consider our family owned and run farm a great place to be as it is located just 2 mins from the township of Ahaura and only 30 mins to either Reefton or Greymouth, so we are ideally located for families or single people as there is plenty to do on your days off and there are great schools nearby, there is a lovely country pub too that does great food!  You will need to come to us with at least a good 6 months experience under your belt.   Your duties will include milking, maintaining a clean shed and the normal day to day duties of running a farm.   Most importantly you will need a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn and to be serious about building a career in the dairy industry.  There is a lovely 3-bedroom house on farm, and we are looking to pay between $26.00 to $30.00 per hour including accommodation.   We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week.   We are a drug and smoke free farm.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to assist us through the calving season. This is a fixed term job for the period of 3 months only.  The duties will include assisting with milking, fencing, calving, calf rearing etc. Depending on the willingness to learn farming , experience and skill set of the person the duties can be changed or made more flexible. This role is ideally suited for someone who is looking for a fixed term work for 3 months or someone on a working holiday visa. The person applying for the job must be familiar with the west coast weather condition or must be willing to work in a wet conditions as this year is expected to be very wet spring for the west coast. Key Responsibilities: Milking and shed hygiene Calving, mating, and general stock work Daily farm maintenance tasks What We’re Looking For: A   strong work ethic   and genuine passion for dairy farming Team player with a   positive, can-do attitude Experience in dairying preferred but not essential for motivated candidates Reliability, honesty, and a willingness to learn Restricted or full driver’s license preferred Must pass a pre employment drug test.

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Calving Season Assistant to join our dairy farm team from 1st August until mid-October , with the possibility of longer work if needed. This is a short-term seasonal role during our busy calving period and would suit someone who has an interest in dairy farming and is willing to learn. The role will involve: Picking up and caring for calves Feeding calves General farm work Helping with other day-to-day farm jobs as required Experience in dairy farming would be an advantage, but it is not essential. We are happy to hear from someone with a great attitude who is reliable, a quick learner, physically fit, and able to follow instructions. Good English communication skills are important.
