We are seeking an experienced farm worker (1-2+ years) to work as a Farm Assistant on a 600-cow farm located approximately 20 minutes west of Invercargill, milking through a 40 Aside Herringbone shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including:   - Milking and monitoring milk quality, - stock handling and feeding - fencing, weed control, - calving, calf rearing, - shed maintenance & preparation,   - tractor operation for feeding out, fertiliser, mowing and silage - monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health and other general farm duties. We are looking for an Assistant Farm Manager (2IC) or good farm assistant that can soon step up to 2IC, to join our team on Mount Bee Dairies, located in Northern Southland 40–60 minutes from Te Anau, Gore, Invercargill, and Queenstown. What we are looking for Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day running of a family run dairy platform. This is a hands on role requiring strong leadership skills and the ability to manage daily farm operations when required. Expectations Minimum 4 years New Zealand dairy farming experience, including previous Herd Manager or Assistant Manager roles. The successful applicant will have strong animal health and stock handling skills, be an effective communicator and team player and is confident with tractor work, feeding out, and fencing.
