Please note This is a RENT IN MILK (This role is for someone who can work in return for the value of house rent) position. Not suitable for someone on employer specific work visa or someone who wants a fulltime work. Milking in Herringbone shed, bringing cows, winding up fence, weed spraying and helping out staff with other farm duties. We want someone who enjoy working with animals, friendly, with sense of humor. We expect him/her to look after the house as well. Ability to ride two-wheeler is a must. We are seeking a farm assistant, to work alongside three other employee's and farm owners. Milking through a 60 bale rotary cowshed with ACR and automatic teat sprayer. We have a milk harvester which milks 70% of the milking's. JCB telehandler and mixer wagon. Someone with a great attitude and keen to give it a go, with a strong work ethic and taking pride in the position, workplace and their accommodation. The applicant will be expected to take part of all duties related to the running of our farming operation. We milk 420-430 Friesian cows through a new 50 bale rotary shed, located 5 minutes east of Eltham. We require someone who is passionate about farming and who is keen to learn more about the industry. You will be required to undertake and be involved in general farming duties including milking, dairy hygiene, weed control, animal health, feeding out and general maintenance. You must be honest and reliable, and have excellent time management skills. Our team is made up of 3 full time workers (employer included). Time off will be every second weekend.
