We are seeking an experienced farm worker (2+ years) to work as a Herd Manager on a 1250-cow farm in the Minginui area, milking through a Herringbone shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking and monitoring milk quality, - training junior staff, - stock handling and feeding (feed mgt), - fencing, weed control, - calving, calf rearing, - shed maintenance & preparation, - tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage - monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health - and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 46. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid the at the agreed overtime rate.   The schedule may vary; Roster will be 8 days on, 2 days off for the rest of the year....

Looking for a calf rearer to assist us over calving (1 July - 15 October). Will need to be confident and capable. Previous experience is preferred but the position can easily be learnt by someone willing. This position will involve rearing approximately 200 calves (milk, meal, hay and water) plus feeding bobbies. Will mostly be working autonomously, however there will be experienced staff nearby if help is needed. Could lead to more work on farm for the right person.
