40 aside herringbone shed, 10 mins out of Temuka. Understands and implements efficient milking practice, training of new staff and keeping records of animal health treatments. Identify common health issues and treat animals accordingly. Competent in all aspects of calving and treating down cows. shifting Effluent. pasture management skills be handy but full training will be given on how to do a farm walk. Safety is paramount on the farm, safe use of bikes, vehicles and tractors. also  need to be punctual,  tidy and able to plan out daily activities. good attitude, time management and be efficient. English speaking and understanding/good communication. Farm is smoke and drug free. Applicant must pass a drug test before starting the role plus random test during the season.Need to be eligible to work in New Zealand with at least 2 years dairy farming experience. We are looking for a dynamic farm assistant to complete our team of 3 staff plus contract milker on our well maintained south canterbury dairy farm. The farm is flat and mainly pivot irrigated with a very efficient 54-bale rotary shed. The Jersey herd is milked TAD until February, then 3 in 2. The cows are performing well and high standards across the farm are in place.  There are great training opportunities for the right applicant, and there is a great condition house available too. We are looking for someone who loves cows, has some machinery abilities and is a keen team member. Minimum experience: 1 year new zealand dairy farming
