Implementing the general operation of this dairy farm to a high standard with the help and insight of sharemilker and herd manager/2Ic. This farm is a 280ha 600cow spring calving dairy farm, 50 rotary cowshed, herd home, running system 3. Our business also runs a 150ha 300cow spring calving dairy farm, herringbone cowshed, system 2 Dairy farms are 10mins apart. Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available. The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. We rear ~70 replacement calves and they stay on farm until 1st May. This is a great opportunity to work with the farm owners and set yourself up for a great career in dairying.
