We are a family run farm located within easy access of the town of Kaikoura. Situated between the mountains and the sea, our farm is well located to take advantage of the hunting and fishing opportunities that Kaikoura offers. Schools, supermarket and services are all close by. An enthusiastic person is required for a general farm hand position on our 800+ cow family farm for the 2026 season. Cows are milked through a 60 bale rotary with Protrack and ACRs.  Milking and bringing cows to the cowshed are core roles for the job. We have a job for a Dairy Farm Assistant requiring at least 6+ months of dairy farm experience. This is for a 620-cow farm in the Ashburton area, milking through a 60 Bail Rotary shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking twice a day - shifting cows and feeding  - fencing, weed control - calving, calf rearing - shed cleaning and setup - identifying and alerting managers to sick cows - Setting fences - and other general farm duties. We are small family owned and operated dairy farm with 450 jersey cows looking for our next permanent full-time Farm Assistant. This is due to our current employee relocating towns due to her partners job promotion. Our farm is located in the Canterbury foothills in Mount Somers which is 20 minutes from Methven and 30 minutes to Ashburton and we milk twice daily through a 40 aside herringbone cowshed with grain feeders, auto cup removers and auto teat spray. You will work as part of team to complete daily jobs of milking (twice daily), moving stock, setting up paddocks, tractor work, spraying, moving k-lines for effluent as well as general maintenance and cleaning. During this time of year we are moving stock on winter crops at the run off and doing maintenance jobs.
