We are looking for a conscientious, efficient person to join our team.  Initially to cover maternity leave, with the potential of becoming permanent. You must have great all-round animal skills, dairy shed hygiene, and milk quality knowledge and general farm work skills. Tractor experience with both implements and mixer wagons is a benefit, although training will be given to the successful applicant.  We operate a split calving, TAD, system 5, of 340 fresian cows with sense hub collars.  

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic farm assistant to join our dairy farm. We are a family owned and operated farm located in Te Kopuru, Northland.  We operate a split calving  OAD 400 Cow dairy unit with two support blocks for young stock. The role of Farm Assistant will require you to be milking assisting with milk quality and animal health, assisting with feeding animals assisting with dairy shed hygiene, effluent management and general farm work. You must work well within a team and be willing to learn and have excellent communication skills. We run Halter and full training will be given to the successful applicant.  You must be able to operate a tractor and 4 wheel motorbike.  Be quiet around livestock and be physically fit, reliable and tidy. We are seeking an experienced calf rearer to manage approx. 350 calves from birth to weaning. Must be honest, reliable, punctual , and a strong team player . Requires 3+ years’ experience and proven ability to rear large calf numbers. Must be physically fit and able to lift 2 x 20L buckets up two steps . Proactive in identifying, treating, and restoring sick calves to full health. Able to drive safely through gateways without damaging equipment. Competitive hourly rate or contract offered. Three‑bedroom house with office/4th bedroom available (separate to role). Farm is 10 minutes drive to Dargaville. Potential part‑time work for a partner on farm.
