Experienced Calf Rearer required, 4km North of Gore on Waimea Hwy. Rearing 300 replacements & selling 4 day old beef calves. You would be working with another to help reduce workload for a good work environment. This job starts beginning of Aug and runs until the end of September. Excellent purpose built calf sheds with underground milk line from dairy shed. Understanding of best practice animal health and growing good quality stock a must. Hours will be flexible and negotiable.

We are looking for an experienced person who can work well as part of a team and by themselves. This is a sole charge and fixed term position. Start date will be 1st of August to approximately 1st of October earlier start possible to negotiate Key attributes we are looking for is someone with excellent attention to detail - can pick up sick calves quickly, makes sure animal welfare is priority, has great calfshed/gear hygiene and is physically fit. Main jobs include: - Making sure each calf gets gold colostrum - Teaching new calves to feed - feeding all calves twice daily - ensuring calves have clean water, meal and hay daily - keeping up with hygiene practices (cleaning calf feeders/bottles/buckets daily) - disinfection of calf pens via spraying virkon and sprinkling stalosan We are located between Mandeville and Riversdale 15minutes from Gore. Brightview Farms are on the lookout for 3 Calf Rearers and Tractor Drivers for our sheep, beef and Dairy  support blocks. Our farming operation is located in Western Southland, with the Dairy and Drystock/Support blocks located within 5 minutes of the Wairio/Nightcaps area.  The operation consists four support blocks, 10,000 su support farm (600ha of support blocks and are within a 10 minute radius of the dairy farms. The position will involve Calf rearing and, tractor work, with modern machinery (cultivation, sowing of crops, grass renewal) and stock work; breeding and fattening calves, heifers, bulls, sheep and winter grazing of dairy cattle.
