The 550 cow, Spring calving Dairy Farm consists of a 195ha milking platform and a 36ASHB with in-shed feeding. Located 2mins from Te Kauwhata. Excellent employment package, including good remuneration, education opportunities, a tidy three bedroom house, and a 9:2/7:3 roster with 6:1 over calving. We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager to join our Sheep Milking Farm. This year we plan to milk 850 ewes and carry 150 Beef Cattle. We are a busy farm located minutes from Te Awamutu with lots of variety. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to try out the sheep dairy industry. The following skills are required: • A strong understanding of pasture management and feed budgeting skills • Experience in dairy milking methods, milking processes and shed/plant hygiene standards • Practical experience in fencing, weed spraying, effluent/irrigator use • Feeding out • Handling animals • Knowledge in animal welfare • Strong experience with farm machinery including motorbikes, tractors, feed out wagons or farm utility vehicles and ability to conduct farm maintenance including mowing • Ability to keep accurate records • Excellent communication and management skills • Minimum of 3 years dairy farm experience The key tasks for the role...
