This is a Drive In position only! There is NO on-farm accommodation available. Only applicants with a suitable drivers license and have their own reliable transport will be considered We are seeking a reliable and friendly calf rearer with a minimum of 1 years experience calf rearing (although a great attitude and a willingness to learn will also be sufficient) from Mid July - Mid November, with additional weekend milking's available through out the season.  A Decent hourly rate plus fuel allowance will be provided to the successful candidate. A minimum of 25hrs/week guaranteed. Start and finish times can be negotiated with in reason for the right candidate e,g to fit around school run/child care/off farm commitments. Must have a good attitude, an eye for animal health, patience, good hygiene and be punctual. Must be physically fit to be able to lift calves up for feeding when required and lift 20kg calf meal bags.  Must be able to provide at least 1 solid work reference.

Milk Harvester – South Taranaki We are looking for a reliable Milk Harvester to join our team in South Taranaki. The role is split between two rotary dairy sheds and includes milking duties along with general day-to-day farm tasks. We have an opportunity for a casual staff member to help us on our two farms over the calving and mating period (July-Dec). We have two dairy farms both running 300 cows located 10mins North of Morrinsville. The role will mainly involve milking and some small duties either side of milking like collecting cows or cleaning up. The hours will be roughly 20-30hrs per week and are to help during the days staff are rostered off, you will most likely be working directly with the farm owner. We are a large-scale dairy farm just outside of Mossburn, Northern Southland.  We are looking for 2 calf rearers to join our team for the upcoming season starting 25th of July and finishing end of September / early October (exact dates are negotiable). This job would ideally suit a couple or 2 friends. Roster is 6/1 or 6/2 depending on the time of the season.  Ideally some experience of caring for animals or working on a farm is preferred but not essential. The key attributes we are looking for is stamina and grit, a great attitude to work, easy to get along with, happy to get their hands dirty (literally), patience, awareness of health and safety, genuine care and consideration for animals and a sense of humour. Conversational English is also required. We use large equipment so you will need to learn how to drive 4 wheelers, a large truck, tow trailers and operate pumps. I am looking for a drive in calf rearer to rear approx 130-140 calves in Eureka, near Morrinsille and Hamilton. Must be experienced and have an eye for detail. There will be bobby calves to feed as well. Have a milk trailer setup with a pump and hose. There will be relief milking available later in the season if wanted also. We are looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to work on a 440-cow farm in Huntly west, milking through a 34cups HB shed. While previous experience is preferred, it is not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows setting fences operating farm machinery and other general farm duties. Short Term Role We would like to employ a Calf Rearer this July. We calve 700 cows, and the role would start mid July through to September/October.  The hours of work will be about 7 hours/day at our peak time, and drop off to about 4hours/day in late August/September.  We are flexible with how many days a week you work, however would expect at least 5 days per week. Our farm is located 8km from Kamo. 

If you are just finished school, after a holiday job or looking at trying something new and looking at farming this is the job for you!! I have a full time position available from mid July to mid summer when it’s all go on the farm with calving and then mating. The farm is located 5 mins west of Carterton just against the foot hills of the tauruas and about 15 out of Masterton! This farm is a 2 man run farm which has a bit over 300 cows and has a 25 aside herring bone shed! I’m looking for someone that is keen, hardworking, reliable.

To assist owner on farm calving 800 and rearing 250 heifer replacements and 200 beef calves for approx 10 weeks. Modern set up using pumps and calfeterias feeding twice daily, 6am & 130pm. Flexible roster can be negotiated to suit. 5mins to Rolleston and 10min to Lincoln. Some work may be on going if interested. Experience desirable but not essential. Being able to work independently and part of a team, a good attitude, reliable and ability to work efficiently are important.
